Firmly established as the textbook of choice on the subject, Oral Pathology is unique in its comprehensive coverage at a level suitable for both undergraduate and postgraduate dental students and practitioners. Highly illustrated in full colour, the new edition continues to provide clear, concise and comprehensive coverage of the clinical and pathological features of a wide range of oral diseases. It discusses their causes and the underlying mechanisms, and describes how changes in the structure and function of oral tissues relate to clinical presentation.

The fourth edition of Oral Pathology has been extensively revised and updated. It provides a compact and readable text for dental students, which covers the clinicopathological features and pathogenesis of oral diseases, and meets the requirements of the undergraduate curriculum. Extensive use has been made of key points to aid learning. Recent developments in genetics and molecular biology, and information on some rare diseases, have been incorporated in boxes to avoid disrupting the flow of the basic text. These boxes, and the updated suggestions for further reading, increase the depth and breadth of the book so that it will be of value to general dental practitioners wishing to update their knowledge of oral pathology as part of continuing professional development, and to those pursuing higher clinical training. The book is illustrated throughout in colour and many new figures have been included.
